// March 16th, 2010 // Feature Article
Family rules! Okay, maybe not for everyone…but when it comes to incredibly delicious, freshly made Irish cuisine, the Geaghan Family reigns supreme. Situated in Bangor, Maine, Geaghan’s Irish Restaurant and Pub is more than an eating establishment, it is a landmark, ever since John Geaghan opened doors in 1975. Now in the hands of John’s son’s, Larry, Pete and Pat, the business has worked hard to preserve the look and feel of a “home away from home” atmosphere. Just look around next time you are there at all of the Maine history that lines the walls; the photographs, the signage, and the Irish themes that remind you where you are. Coupled with an amazing menu, generous portions, and enough beer selections to please everyone, Geaghan’s Irish Restaurant & Pub is a must for any weekend traveler or local alike. I
The brothers are currently beginning the set up for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. How do I know this? Well I will be there starting very early in the morning March 17th, filming the entire day which is sure to produce a lot of smiles, laughter, good food, and of course, Irish Car Bombs. Until then, enjoy the following video as we give you a little “taste” of what an average day at Geaghan’s is like, from kitchen preparation, to the popular and delicious entrees that they create dozens of times a day.
You can find Geaghan’s Restaurant across from the Bangor Auditorium on State Street, directly connected to the Fireside Inn & Suites in Bangor, Maine. For constant updates of what’s going on at the restaurant, find Geaghan’s on Facebook. Oh and order the “Reserve” Boneless Wings, and be sure to thank me later.
